Brooklyn's Own: Fryktion

If you know Problem Child's megahit Party Animal or if you can't help but sing along to Patrice Roberts' A Little Wine then you're already familiar with New York-based producer, Fryktion.

Ramon ‘Fryktion’ McDowall grew up in St. Vincent & the Grenadines and was influenced by the musical offerings of Winston Soso, New Direction and Alston ‘Becket’ Cyrus.  His recent credits include The Spanish Fly Riddim, featuring Ricardo Drue’s Get to Know You, the Albino Riddim, on which he voiced his own Soca Man, and most recently, he produced The Fete Life Riddim, featuring music from King Bubba, Shradah, and Patrice Roberts with all songs written by the Vincy bad boy, Problem Child.

Adding to his own musical catalog, Fryktion releases this latest afrobeat-inspired track.  Branching out further into the soca scene, the reclusive producer steps in front of the camera for this high-energy music video shot by New York's Fermin Photography

Fryktion plans to produce music on a global scale and work with soca heavyweights like Bunji Garlin and Machel Montano. Beyond that, he has ambitions of winning a Grammy Award, having his music feature in the Billboard Top 100, and producing a track with Barbadian superstar Rihanna.
